Echoes of the Levant: When Music Supports Art
At the House of Levant Association in Canada, we see art as a means of resistance, storytelling, and survival. In a region brimming with cultural heritage yet marked by displacement, backing Levantine artists is essential, not optional.
Music with a Mission
We are planning to release an album that combines contemporary rhythms with ancestral sounds and explores themes of identity, exile, and collective memory. Its distinctive aspect is its goal: a portion of the album’s earnings will directly support visual artists who are working to showcase their work internationally.
Painting New Pathways
This initiative is only part of HLAC’s larger effort to support artists who encounter significant obstacles—such as financial difficulties, limited visibility, or movement restrictions. Many of these artists express powerful stories through their paintings, sculptures, and installations, but their work often remains unseen because of limited resources or opportunities.
We aim to change that.
HLAC aims to connect artists with the world—facilitating international exhibitions, broadening their reach to global audiences, and asserting their right to visibility and recognition.
Art as a Tool for Transformation
IIn a world where regional news often highlights suffering and loss, our aim is to highlight the other side: the creativity, beauty, and resilience of our people. When a Levant band helps support the dreams of a painter, it exemplifies the strength of regional solidarity—one story uplifting another.
